On December 6, within the framework of the “Doha Forum,” the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, participated in a panel discussion titled “Armenia–Azerbaijan Lasting Peace: The Washington Agreement and the Shared Future” together with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan.
In his remarks, Armen Grigoryan referred to the initialed agreement “On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan,” emphasizing the importance of institutionalizing the peace process. Grigoryan also highlighted the implementation of the “TRIPP Route” initiative and the economic opportunities arising from the unblocking of regional communications, adding that increased business interest and the involvement of regional and extra-regional actors will contribute to strengthening the established peace in the region.
The Secretary of the Security Council stressed the ongoing efforts to enhance mutual trust between the societies of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the readiness of both sides to support this process. Grigoryan also underlined the importance of the involvement of international partners in the aforementioned processes.
