17 / 11 / 2021

On November 17, the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan took part in the 9th meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CIS member states in Moscow.

During the meeting, the member-states discussed the threats coming from the territory of Afghanistan, the cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of migration and humanitarian issues, and the security issues arising as a result of the development of biotechnology. The CIS member-states have expressed their readiness to expand the scope of cooperation further.

The Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, made a speech in which, in addition to the issues mentioned above, he referred to the incursion of Azerbaijani troops into the territory of the Republic of Armenia and the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

A. Grigoryan particularly noted that Azerbaijan does not observe the ceasefire regime and does not fulfil the agreements reached as a result of the agreements mentioned earlier. Armenia considers the hostilities carried out by Azerbaijan a step towards the territorial integrity of Armenia.

The Secretary of the Security Council stressed that Armenia remains committed to the peace process, is ready to start the process of demarcation and delimitation, but at the same time will resolutely repel any military aggression from its borders.

On the issue of unblocking the communication channels, A. Grigoryan noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the format created at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers and is ready to make every effort to implement the agreements reached on November 9 and January 11.
