The 2020-2021 Action Plan for Democratic Control over the Security Sector has been Approved

On June 2, 2020, the online working meeting of the National Platform for Democratic Control over the Security Sector, which is a consultative body of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, and is established with the support of the OSCE, took place. The online meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Mr. Andranik Kocharyan, and was attended by the representatives of the RA public administration bodies, civil society organizations, as well as the OSCE-EU experts.

During the online meeting, the 2020-2021 action plan for democratic control over the security sector was approved. A comprehensive information on the results of the research carried out within the framework of the development of the RA Police Reforms Strategy was presented by the OSCE and EU experts.

At the end of the working discussion, Mr. Andranik Kocharyan, Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, noted; "Today's non-standard meeting proves that the Platform is on the way to implementing its work and programs. The Platform has an immense mission in the near future. It is clear that the implementation of a number of tasks set in front of the state in the field of security requires huge expertise, appropriate involvement of civil society organizations, in the implementation of which the role of the Platform is invaluable."
