Commission on Defence Reforms Established

The decision on the establishment of an "Interagency commission, its composition and order of activities for implementing defence reforms, as well as increasing the effectiveness of the fight against vicious phenomena" was adopted by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

According to the decision an interagency commission for implementing defence reforms, as well as increasing the effectiveness of the fight against vicious phenomena, has been established under the chairmanship of the Security Council Secretary of the RA.

The Commission objectives are the identification of the existing problems in defence sector, identification of their causes, prevention of superventions, reduction of risks and submission of proposals for implementation of reforms in the defense sector of the Republic of Armenia.

The Security Council Secretary is to report on the activities of the Commission to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia on a quarterly basis.
