The Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan Gave an Interview to Petros Ghazaryan on Public Television

The main topic of the interview was the recently published Government program, in particular, its security component.

Speaking of the army reforms, Armen Grigoryan noted that the goal of having a professional army underlies those reforms. He emphasized the importance of assigning the function of border guard to the frontier troops in this process with the army being fully focused on enhancing military skills. If necessary, the army will only engage in hostilities.

The transition to an army on a professional basis and the issue of paying more attention to the involvement of women in it were highlighted.

Touching upon the issues of demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Secretary Grigoryan noted that Armenia is ready for demarcation and delimitation with Azerbaijan, adding that the Nagorno Karabakh issue has nothing to do with this processes; these are separate issues.
